Take a walk down Heritage Street and tour a variety of historic homes that have been relocated to the museum grounds and include appropriate period d\u00e9cor. From a Goldfield mining cabin to an early Las Vegas railroad cottage to a Hoover Dam worker\u2019s bungalow and a Strip wedding chapel, Heritage Street tells the story of southern Nevada. The museum itself features exhibits on Clark County history and also includes exhibits on Native Americans of the Southern Nevada region. UNLV Libraries will provide complimentary round trip bus transportation to the UNLV campus (15 minute ride) leaving every half hour beginning at 12:30 p.m. with pickup outside the north entrance that is located next to the front desk. Last pick-up at 4:30 and last return trip is 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy a visit to UNLV Special Collections which documents the history and culture of southern Nevada, Las Vegas and gaming. During the open house, you\u2019ll be able to see a variety of unique items from our collection on display that range from 17th century gaming treatises in Latin to 19th century Nevada mining company certificates and photographs to showgirl costume designs and show programs that document the Strip\u2019s entertainment history. Take a tour of the Atomic Testing Museum to learn more about the history of the development and testing of the nuclear bomb, and its role in the history of Nevada and the United States. The museum includes permanent exhibits, a library and archive, and a changing gallery of temporary exhibits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.neonmuseum.org\/\"><strong>Neon Museum<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nTime: 7:30- 9:30 p.m.<br \/>\nSchedule:\u00a0Meet at the north entrance located in the Bally\u2019s Lobby just across from the Bally\u2019s Box Office at 7:30 p.m., Tour 8:00 &#8211; 9:00 p.m., Return to Bally&#8217;s 9:30 p.m.<br \/>\nCost: $32<br \/>\nParticipants: 10 person minimum, 20 person maximum<\/p>\n<p>Avoid the summer heat and enjoy a guided evening tour of this unique outdoor museum of \u201cretired\u201d neon signage from hotels and businesses in Las Vegas. In addition to learning about neon as an art form, you\u2019ll hear the story of some of the signs that have made history along the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street\u2019s Glitter Gulch.
